Meet Our Faculty Advisor
Jeffrey Hepker is Assistant Professor of Music Composition at the University of North Texas. He is also helping to develop and expand the new Commercial Music program within the UNT College of Music.
Beyond the classroom, he is an accomplished composer and producer of music for film, television and theatrical trailers. In total, he has hundreds of scoring and licensing credits spread across nearly every major network, streaming service, and film studio. Selected projects include Eastbound and Down (HBO), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NBC), Love Is Blind (Netflix), branding and promo content for all films of the Harry Potter franchise (Warner Bros), and promotional spots for The Lion King (Disney 2019 version), Family Guy (Fox), and The Wire (HBO). He currently is under writing or publishing contracts with multiple Los Angeles music libraries and production companies.
Other professional ventures include music supervising for dozens of tv/film productions, serving as musical director for Second City Los Angeles comedy theater and improv school, and writing as staff composer for Hollywood production companies mOcean, New Wave Entertainment, Nacelle Entertainment and Craig Murray Productions.
Jeffrey helped to found University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's contemporary jazz A Cappella group, No Strings Attached, in 1994 and is now bringing that same passion to UNT by supporting UNTapped as we grow into something extraordinary!
